Found this lady this weekend. She stands about 9 or 10 inches tall. I believe she is ceramic. Her hat and dress are white with red, orange, green and yellow polka dots. The colors look like they are from the 70's. Her socks are pink as is her smile. All colors used on the figurine are glazed in.
Anyone have any idea who she is and where I can find info on her?

Written on the bottom of the foot is LERE. Any idea of what age it is. It has several small fractures on the glaze like it is realy old. It was purchased 20+ years ago in MO.
She's Lucy, Charlie Brown's Arch-enemy from Peanuts
It's Lucy from the Peanuts comic's. She might be older than the 70's. There should be some kind of mark on her
Thanks to all that responded. I know it is Lucy from the Peanuts. I was hoping to find out more about this figurine; how many more are there, who made it and the rarity of it. I have been to the schultz museum and have googled her. That just leads me to information about the Peanuts gang.

I highly doubt you will find how many were made. Two things may be possible here. I think she is an older figure because of the mutation of the comic strip itself. As Peanuts became more popular the characters became more detailed. Along with that came the need to license Peanuts as the books became the rage, and Hallmark jumped on that, as well as Kodak as well as a few others. Before licensing I would say anyone could have made this figure. Writing on her can not place the maker, only a stamp, or it may have had a sticker. There is a good chance it was an import from Japan.
I haven't been able to place her, but thousands of different figures were made I'm sure, and without a maker it will be hard to find. You can either find a collector on line to help you, or watch eBay completed listings each week.
My mother actually had a set of the whole gang that she painted in 70's ceramics class. Is she one of those?
That very well could be. The crazing is very telling
I believe "ceramics class" is the answer. I have one of these, also Lucy, that I picked up at a garage sale a few years back. The casting is identical, no markings anywhere. Mine is nicely hand-painted but not glazed so it has a matte finish, four colors for a more traditional look: red dress and hat, black shoes, eyes and hair, skin tone face and arms, white socks and dress collar. Even some very subtle cheek blush! I hope to run across others without consciously searching.
