And once more, like those just shown, these pictured here without the slightest attempt at cleaning, 'as recovered'.
The large drift to the side is nearly 11" long, all the rest are more typically sized. The most interesting three (to me anyway) are at the bottom (pics 2 & 3) because the largest one there looks like its had 3 or 4 little holes drilled sideways partway into its shank (why??) where maybe it attached to something else or vice-versa. The 2nd one up seems like the most nicely machined overall with its general shape and knurled handle. 3rd up is the only one with any kind of markings on it, which I still cannot really decipher nor recognize as anything...though while looking closely at it in the sunshine while taking the pics, it might read "M P P C C" ...???
At least one or two of the others pictured here (again, at first glance without any cleaning at all, and including the long one) might have even been "hand wrought", given slight 'imperfections' in the way they might have been made plus the lack of any other markings.
Those shallow drill holes could be an owner's mark!!!
