Vase by Hisatoshi Iwata in a style I find really attractive with what seems to be broad brush strokes of colour through the glass.
The coloured layer is from a great aqua blue with what appears to be black glass lines which are actually a rich navy blue. The attractive thing is the edges of the lines clearly show the dark blue and the result is as if an artist has run a paint loaded brush around the vessel.
The lines are random but balanced, and the ribbed shape of the outer clear case makes the lines even more alive.
It's a pretty cool piece of glass and like much Japanese glass is sizable.
24cm high 24cm wide 2.5kg
Striking beauty, a lovely artistic design of dark splashes on aqua that's truly unique
Beautiful calligraphic decor - what a nice piece of glass!
Beautiful coloring ! wow
It is like someone just added the dark blue liquid before it mixes in, and you keep the excitement fresh as if the moment stays, superb !~
Hey thanks Jenni, as usual, a generous comment. It is an uncommon one for Iwata.
Thanks Harry! It's interesting that this slightly loose decor is from Hisatoshi, it was more of a Toshichi thing.
It is a standout piece here Manikin, and thanks!
Thomas, thanks my friend! Hope all is going well, stay safe.
I am not sure how he kept the liquid look of that blue Phil, but it is fresh and alive!
Thanks mate.
