Hoping someone can tell me more about this piece. Original owner was 97 and just passed away sadly enough. From what I understand it was purchased while in Europe possibly in the 80's and bright to the US. The story is it was commissioned to be made for them while in Spain. By whom exactly is unknown.
Again I'm hoping someone may recognize the work/craftsmanship and fill in the blanks. Personally I've never seen one before, it's quite handsome. And very heavy!
The elderly lady may have been 97 and also may have had a memory problem. I don't see this being that old. I didn't download the pictures and enlarge them but from what I see on here this is a couple decades newer than what you assume.
@ fhrjr2 - I don't think she has the memory problem, more the person giving me the information. Having spoke to the daughter in-law to verify, it turns out Sweden was actually "Spain". And 40's/50's was actually the 70's or 80's. Lol. I've made the corrections to the post.
Now that makes sense.
Do the legs come off the table & benches or somehow fold to the inside ? Love the idea.
@ blunderbuss2 - the legs fold up and inside. I was just shown a pic of another piece in the house, apparently there's also a matching round leaf dinning table. I presume by the same craftsman. It's nice but this cabinet certainly is the eye catcher. Notice all keys are in each lock. Certainly saves searching for them.
