Here are a few works from my collection by some Japanese watercolor artists who were active before WWII. Very little is known about them. They are mostly only known because of their work. Ten or fifteen years ago, after collecting a few watercolors, I corresponded with a collector/gallery owner in Japan who was also interested in this type of art. I was able to locate him because of his web site, which is still maintained. I was very interested in Japanese art (paintings) for a few years and also collected several oil paintings which are still in my collection.
M. Matsu - both watercolor on paper, both 9.5" x 13"
S. Nimi - watercolor on paper, 13.25" x 9.25".
H. Kato - watercolor on paper 14" x 8".
