I found this in the belongings my mother left me and I just want to see what everyone thinks Is this something that someone might want to purchase maybe?I am an autograph virgin so I dont know whether or not to sell I just want it to be in the hands of someone who will appreciate it.Thank you for any words of wisdom.Everyone is so helpful and I really do appreciate you
I am in no way a document expert or any such thing. However I would start with some basics. This is where I would start.
First thing that needs to be clarified.... what is this document? Is this a military document or order? Is it a land grant? Is this document an original document or a copy? Is the document real? Did Grover Cleveland actually sign it? Or did an assistant sign for him?
Next you would figure out how much is Grover Cleveland's signature worth?($100 to thousands) How much is Grover Cleveland's stamp worth? (I saw online that someone bought his actual wax stamp, so we know people collect that stuff.)
Other things to consider? Since you don't know the value yet, you need to make sure you handle this carefully. And keep it safe. The more you handle the item the more it may devalue it.
You also need to determine does the document have any historical significance?
Thank you so very much DAV you are such an awesome person.I am so overwhelmed with the estates of 4 family members who passed in 4 months. I truly appreciate you
Land grant.
No land grant was actually presidentially signed after Jackson's second term in 1833. It was too burdensome and secreterial designees were assigned. The "By M. Mckean" is indicative of who signed for Cleveland.

Sounds like Scott has more information for you. And you're welcome. My mother passed earlier this year, so we are also dealing with the estate.
Dad passed 13 years ago...huge ham radio & electronics hoard. Been taking stuff to annual electronics swap meet for last 10 years +.
Hello Scottvez,I thank you for your kowledge and insight. Would you know who I would take it to for authentification.?I live in the mountains so I'll have a long ride to get done. I am so grateful for your help.
It is authentic-- a lot of these out there (presidential land grants).
Don't bring a lot of money unless they are earlier and actually signed by the president.
