I saved this old Zenith radio from salavage. Why do people throw away such nice items? I got it home and changed the cord, plugged it in and waited for the smoke. Then came the hum and finally found a local station. The speaker sounds good and has 3 adjustments. Could use some help on the model number.

Your radio is a 1938 model 6-S-254......a very common model for '38

I have the same radio. Replace the caps and it will be a good performer.

My grandmother has one sitting in her garage. I think the perfect gift for Christmas would be to get it repaired for her but I don't even know where to begin to look for parts or repair. Please help?

This was for the original OP .... One in better condition sold for $45.00 at the 2012 Kutztown Pa Spring antique radio show . Even then it needed a lot of work to bring it back to it's former glory

If your was in excellent original or restored condition ( which it is NOT !) it would bring much more.
