I'm told this is a Wurttemberg mini-mantle 8-day clock made with Belgian oak, and around 100 years old. Does that sound accurate to those in the know?
I've got a key for it, but am afraid to wind it. I don't feel it "yielding" when I try turning it counter-clockwise or clockwise, and I'm afraid of forcing it and breaking something. Suggestions appreciated!
Hi,
Very nice Tambour timepiece. Sounds like the mainspring may be completely wound up. Does the clock run at all? If not, you may need to take it in for evaluation and possibly for servicing. It's a machine. All machines with many moving parts need to be maintained if they are going to keep operating.
Thanks for sharing with us.
