Here is a nice sampling of pieces I’m finding these days: All Czechoslovakia 1920-30’s.
1. Maker unknown Black based with powder lines and confetti applications (windings)
2. Franz Welz cup in tangerine with multi-color confetti- the surface is satin iridescent
3. Franz Welz cased honeycomb decor in green adventurine glass
4. Unknown maker: two bell shapes vases one with cobalt glass with tin application the other yellow tango cased with confetti and powders. There is a third vase that matches this shape in cameo glass (somewhere out there)
Pieces in Image 1 are marvellous. I have never seen this type before. The stripes really pop on the dark base, and then, those rainbow windings.....
Funny enough I had never recognized them before as well, never seen them that tall! It was the applications that gave them away. They were both bought in Europe this year - so maybe they got certain types and we got other types. These are related to the punch in shapes, pieces with mica inclusions, stamped transparent with confetti (rainbow) applications and punch out rim pieces with the weird prunts (in tango and Stamped transparent)
