I saw this box recently at a flea market and was intrigued by the delicate art work on the cover so I purchased it. It didn't have any incised marks but I figured it would be great researching it. There is a sticker on the inside cover that reads C.C.I.C and some strange lettering-numbers. On the under-base , there are old felts that keep it raised slightly from the table. It is 8-sided and tinted black purposely...not patination. It is non-magnetic, weighs 605gms and measures 5 3/4" long by 4 1/4" wide by approximately 1 1/2" tall. Before I resort to removing the three stickers to look for marks, would anyone recognize the sticker info. or would know the maker or where it was made. Thanks, RER
I think that is written in Yiddish but I am not able to read it..... my grandmother used to write with this letters, so some judaica box I guess., the work is Guiloche probably silver without enamel but I am not an expert
