In the thumbnail I thought this was some kind of elf's head, it's the wings for sure which I thought were pointy ears :P I also love the colour- kinda grey green which reminds me of limestone or something. He's a very sweet little owl. :)

I have a couple of cute little toothpick holders in the old HappyHourOwls cabinet... I actually use one for wooden matches and then one for toothpicks.
This cute little guy makes me think about developing a "side collection" of these little holders. Really sweet.
I did a Google for "westmoreland glass owl toothpick" and found some really pretty variations in milk glass, blue, and a carnival glass version.
      Thanks for sharing.

Lauren I totally agree, this did not look like an owl when I saw some thumbnail pix of it while 'animal glass scouting', then you look closer and see that cute big eyed owl face! Must admit it's a creative design tho, and of all the owl types the round headed ones are my favorites (even have one on my Christmas card!). Thanks as always for your wonderful comment & praise

Thank you HappyHourOwls for your great comment & I'm so glad you looked around for more of these Westmoreland toothpick holder owls, they did come in a wide variety of colors & milk glass, hope you add some for your beautiful owl collection :) I did take another look at your gorgeous cabinet and noticed the cute match & toothpick holder owls in the center, they are so adorable

Thank you Jerryboy for your super comment, yes it is wonderful when I can find a piece with either the orig label or else some kind of raised imprint to i.d. the glass. It is nice to define vintage glass with a mark or tag of some kind, my other sources are glass animal books that sometimes illustrate some of my finds with year and item number, but many are not pictured and you have to do further online investigating finding the same item on other sites to gauge an estimate of the year made

Lol Lauren I agree, I thought it a griffin or something at first!
      Strange but cool green Jenni.

Karen thanks for your super comment and again we're in agreement it is one weird looking owl pose, to me it looks like a bat wing pose lol! And that is an odd green, looks a bit like the old time EAPG green glass color

As a relative newb to glass, I knew that "carnival glass' referred to a range of makers and eras, and i was curious to knw more. For others who may be interested, this was a helpful museum seminar on the Westmoreland brand. It mentions (but doesn't show) a sold carnival glass owl.
      https://www.carnivalglassworldwide.com/westmoreland-revival.html
I found a carnival owl holder that looks identical in design and pose, attributed to "Robert Hansen" (there's an odd mark on the base that I can't quite make out).
Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, I don't know what all this means for our little green friend. Interesting, though! If only everybody would just leave those labels ON, am I right?? :)
