DeVilbiss Atomizer
The base of the rim says, "Made in USA" and the bottom has a 5. I'm assuming that's model number 5?
I believe this was produced in the 50s?
because of the spray attachment I believe this is a throat spray atomizer? I was having difficulty finding this example of bottle. I saw one a couple days ago when I was doing research but I can't find it now.
This came out of Dad's electronics workshop. Not sure what he was using it for? Possibly blowing dust or solder remains off of circuit boards?
The DeVilbiss Corporation date back to 1888 when Toledo, Ohio physician Dr. Allen DeVilbiss developed a spray atomizer to provide an easier way to apply medicines to patients' throats. His invention was so successful that by 1890 he had retired from medical practice and established a company, DeVilbiss Manufacturing Company, to produce the atomizers in the old Lenk Winery on Toledo's north side.
The history of the company is quite interesting. One of the sons developed a scale company. eventually they went on to spray booth and spray equipment. To read more see, copy link.
