My wife has had her father's toy since she was a kid. She says it was under their Christmas tree every year. We just noticed a tag on the bottom of one of the feet and learned that it was made by Twistum, an Oakland, California, toy company that made these types of toys from 1922 to 1932. My wife's Twistum, which is not is great shape, was sold as the Madagascar Cat. You can see that the paint has faded a lot compared to the last photo, which is from oldwoodtoys.com, but there may have been variations in the colors that I'm not aware of. Also, her cat has two orange beads in a row near the base of the tail, which may have been a mistake. Anyhow, her cat is still poseable today, thanks to the piano-wire springs inside the toy.
