This is not the most exciting piece of graniteware/enamelware but it was filled with clothespins. Some were the old school type. The seller offered to sell it for $10 and here it is. Surprised no one bought it for the original price of $15.
The speckled finish is what is known as graniteware. Generally the solid color pieces are are called enamelware. That is not exactly official. It is the same coating as the porcelain signs which is basically glass as chips easily. For cookware and poopware the advantage is it is easy to clean. For signs it does not fade in sunlight. You buy a vintage metal sign and display it outside where the sun light hits it and your vintage sign may fade away to almost blank. This can be hung outside and will be fine.
No scorch marks on this so I am thinking it was a pail for berry picking or some such. Does not have the wide lip for poopware.
In the meantime clothespins are handy for model making and mending so it is all good.

It's a really attractive piece of enamel ware. Bright happy colour and a neat shape. Almost looks new so no fading here.

Thank you very much racer4four. The handle shows some age but yes bright.

My grandmother had tons of graniteware, she did most of her cooking in those pans. Show us those peg clothespins, fortapache! :)
