      I would sooner think it is hard rubber from when they were changing over from cast iron toys.

      There's no maker marks or anything on the bottom of it?

      It is a modern resin piece-- typical of the hobby lobby specials.

      Decorator item. Comes in various forms-- racer and car, planes, etc...

      I have to agree with scott I see as resin also that is why I asked what it was made of . The boxes and rope on back look like resin and modern . It is still cool whatever it is :-)
