The artist did well moulding this bird, true to form !~
I want one!
A very modern take on this bird- the blue comb looks like a fish fin on top of his head which is really funny looking and cute. His expression is so wide eyed and alert, you see these birds bopping with excitement at times with the comb straight up- this cockatoo must have seen something that's making him do that! :D
Love everything about this especially the beautiful color.
I have a 35-year-old pet parrot, and he has a number of buddies who are cockatoos. This really captures the head-bobbing, boisterous, crest-stretching moves they make, it really does!
With thanks everybody for the love

Thanks Phil for the super compliment, it is pretty well formed esp the face and crown, and I really like that cool 60s moderne hourglass body
Thank you dav2 that's so cool and I too have wanted an art glass cockatoo for ages, for some reason there are tons of vintage songbirds but precious few of the parrot variety, esp in colored glass - we both gotta keep looking for more!
Lauren thank you for your wonderful comment & observs on these birds, yes the glassmaker really captured the cockatoo look in the face, and that crest does look rather like a fin esp in blue! The modern body is really unusual too. Oh yes, there is nothing like the energy of these crested birds they are so lively & vocal
Hi jb love to see you, thanks so much for the fabulous compliment & yes isn't this the loveliest shade of blue glass, one of my favorites & seen more in Swedish glass than others, I have more for future posts
Mary great comment and you are absolutely right, between the sharp tail & crest and the hourglass body for a good grip, you could really whack someone with this guy! But I think he's a little too pretty to smash so will keep him away from the front door lest anyone breaks in lol!! :))
Thank you HappyHourOwls for your lovely praise and I'm delighted to find out you are a parrot owner, isn't it amazing how long they can live - I owned parakeets and the oldest made it to 12 which was pretty good for that species I'm told. You're so right about the cockatoos, my sister-in-law had a yellow crested male that was very vocal and active, really nice that your parrot has them for buddies :)
Thanks share for the love, it's great to see you & so nice of you to stop by, very pleased you liked this blue parrot
Hey! The "Blue Parrot" was the 'other bar', rival to Rick's "Cafe Americain" in the movie "Casablanca". I knew there was something about this bird that was rumbling around in the back of my brain...
Thank you so much for the kind love

Hi HappyHourOwls & thanks for your nice comment, I do remember the Blue Parrot bar in Casablanca now that you mention it, great recall! That was one classic film, I love those B&W noir mysteries - I also have a glass 'Maltese falcon' in my collection!
Wow I love this. Great style and that blue is so good.
Our local cockatoos are destructive creatures but beautiful and entertaining. They would break this interloper in a moment.....
Karen I was truly psyched to find this blue glass cockatoo, this bird is so rarely portrayed in art glass & you are right, they are so pretty and feisty - BTW I love your profile pic of that beauty! Thanks for your wonderful compliments & the love
