I came across this plastic figure while cleaning out the basement of a deceased family members house. No one in the family seemed to know what it was. I believe it may be a Beatle. It was painted a bit, like a child may have done it years ago. Maybe it was a set that was meant to be painted? Any help would be appreciated.

I believe you are right about it being one of the beetles. I will post a link below. Scroll down to the second picture (1963) not to look at the face but to look at the clothing they are wearing. Picture looks the same as your little guy.

I’d say you’re correct. Looks like the same outfit. Unless that was the style back in the 60’s.

It wasn't a style in the 60's but some folks tried to mimic it back then when the Beetles were coming to fame. They were originally well dressed and groomed, they became slobs after they came to this country.

There is a set of 3 Beatles--one is missing, maybe you have it??--that are currently for sale on Etsy in a shop called BlueStarAntiques. The ones listed there are painted but they really look so similar that I'd bet yours is from that set. You may be able to get in touch with that shop owner and find out whether yours is the same size as those.

I was a Beatlemaniac back in the day so I remember them and their clothing, hair etc. well. Your figure is dressed in the collarless Mod style that was very popular at the time--mostly because of the Beatles!

      Hi, smittyboy. :-)

The collarless Edwardian suit, plus the aggressive-looking stance made me immediately suspect it was a representation of Beatle John Lennon.

I think what you have is a figurine from the Revell Beatles model kit (note that the front part of the guitar strap is intact on this one):

      *snip*

About the Revell Beatles model kits:

In 1964 hot on the heels of Revell's popular Rat Fink line came the company's issue of the four members of the Beatles.

      *snip*

All four likenesses were accurately sculpted, complete with accurate depictions of their instruments (Ringo only had a snare drum, rather than a full drum set), and all were posed in the standard stances that their fans could even recognize in silhouette. John Lennon is unusually pictured playing his acoustic with electronic pickups, rather than the more famous Rickenbacker of his early days.

      Here is an unassembled kit:
