This little pot is about 5" high, including lid, and has a familiar label. I have been researching what I think is a brush pot which I posted on CW a few days ago and looking for more examples of the label on it and found this little covered pot that the seller called "jam pot". It could probably be used for jam and was also probably made for export, so maybe that was a good guess. At any rate, the quality of this piece is very nice, but it contrasts pretty dramatically from the brush pot in technique and color. The label is also hexagonal on this piece and on the brush pot it is rectangular, which I thought was interesting. I've seen the three rectangles on these labels on other dramatically different pieces of pottery and not of their meaning. Still researching....
