Autographed Country Music Photos- Ernest Tubb & The Troubadour

Was cleaning out some of Mom's stuff and found these autographed photos. It's very strange considering mom was Japanese and didn't care for country music. Dad on the other hand was really into Bluegrass and old music like this.

    The headshot is Ernest Tubbs.

We can see the autograph on the far left is Noel Stanley. Interestingly his drummer left him to join Ernest Tubb's band.

    **UPDATE - Thanks to Scott.
"Texas Troubadours-- both Noel Stanley (bass/ vocals) and Bill Parker (Rhythm guitar) can be found listed as 1969- 70 members of the band."

    ERNEST TUBB
Ernest Dale Tubb, nicknamed the Texas Troubadour, was an American singer and songwriter and one of the pioneers of country music. His biggest career hit song, "Walking the Floor Over You", marked the rise of the honky tonk style of music.

They appear to be an interation of the Texas Troubadours-- both Noel Stanley (bass/ vocals) and Bill Parker (Rhythm guitar) can be found listed as 1969- 70 members of the band.

Good find Scott! I actually looked at several different groups of Troubadours and didn't see them listed.

Then I didn't see Ernest Tubb's in the picture so I thought it might have been a different group. Because I thought Ernest Tubbs group was only five people but I realize now that it's six people.

I think that these two guys is autographs are rarer then Ernest Tubbs.

New info - my father retired from the Air Force in 1972 or 73. My parents often frequented the Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base NCO clubs for dinners and events.

Found a reference saying that Ernest Tubb's in his band played there in 1965 & autographs after the show. But I also found this other reference which would make more sense with the band members in the photograph.

A new Non-Commissioned Officers Club was erected on American Lake in 1971 and the old Knights of Columbus building was demolished. The new club opened on April 2, 1971, with a main ballroom that could hold 700. A senior non-commissioned officers lounge had a capacity of 175. At the grand opening, the 21st Army Band played. Ernest Tubb and the Texas Troubadours played there April 4th. Frank Sinatra Jr. (b. 1944) was the headliner on May 20, 1971
