I found stamped in ink (605 inspected DEC30 1916)
I can not find anything that is even close to this. There is vine and floral carving around the top and bottom edges. The backboard has crossed torches carved. The carved urn medallion piece... they are all pretty unique. Any idea of what area? Type of wood? What style?
Nice to see one dated. Usually somewhere into the late 20's to approx 1940 or so. Neo-classical styling. The catalogs of the 30's to 1950's had a lot of these styles in them. Sears, Eatons in Canada sold many of these sets also. I have a small mirror with urn at top which matches the urn in this dresser.
