Found this little guy at a Thrift shop.Stands about 20".Can't see any markings.Can anybody tell me anything about it?Thank you

He looks like a much loved piece to have survived so well.
He appears to be either a piece made to look old by painting him to look aged , or he was totally repainted . Hard to tell by one photo . He is quite charming .
I surely could be wrong also :-) Easier to tell when item is in your hands on a figure like him . Maybe someone else will chime in and help ID also .
I'm thinking if he was repainted,it had to be along time ago.The Patina on it definitely looks old.
Your probably right repainted and they sealed him with a high gloss varnish . I wish they had used a matte finish . His face and hair style is very reminiscent of a young boy china doll.
"little guy" -- at 20" this is huge for chalkware.
A photo of the bottom side of the base would be helpful in determining age.
