Little is known about what appears to be a Mappin & Web Mantle Clock. I suspect it could be UK manufactured in London. I was told it was obtained during a vacation trip to the UK some 50 odd years ago by my wife's Nana. Text on the dial had better days but one can make out Mappin & Web 1908. Whether it actually dates back to 1908 is uncertain. It's a Mantle Clock that was passed onto my wife from her Nana. The clock is still fully functional and is extremely heavy in weight. It is evident that the manufacturer put in some effort to make it appealing. The top part of the clock can separate and appears to be made from marble. It nevertheless is an eye catching experience when entering the foya at the front door of my house. Would be geat if anyone has a bit more knowledge that can be shared about this clock.
