    I purchased this chair at an estate sale about 10 years ago. I don't know anything about the maker or history of the chair. It appears to be made of a very decorative hardwood, and shows several areas where it has been hand carved. The construction also appears to be of a style from many years ago. The seat material looks to be leather material. I have been told by one person, who seems to know a lot about old/antique furniture, that it is an Empire chair made in the 1840’s. I am looking for other opinions, and information.
