This is a purchase I made from a antique shop/mall, they were asking $124...I got it for $95.....its a vintage Tiffany styled stained glass lamp shade that was made into a hanging lamp......it's approx 21 inches wide....its in great condition ...with no missing glass......tight with no rattle).....they say that the Tiffany stained glass shades have a little bit of a rattle when knocked on by hand..due to the glass tiles becoming loose over time....from a little research via books on Tiffany lamps etc.. ....I think this shade was originally a lamp with a tall base, like a living room lamp etc.....I fell in love with it because of the dragonflies....I had made several trips to the antique mall looking for other things and been watching it for a few weeks....after purchase, I got it home I did look for any possible signatures...it would have been a bonus if it was a Tiffany, but there are no marks found....I used a smaller lamp to light it up from underneath....I intend to have it rewired before using it as a hanging lamp...while looking for a taller antique bronze lamp base from the early 1900's and have it attached ....
Did you check inside along the lead lines for a small metal label?
@Watchsearcher....no I didn't look too close....it looked like someone had gone over the lead....and it isn't that neat in areas....although it does have a repeatative design....and someone on another site said it was not a Tiffany....with that I just assumed it was a good imitation.....but....I will use my magnifying glass and take another look inside....Thanks so much for the suggestion!
Gorgeous dragonfly design, great find
I have a shade like yours with the base and it is marked B & H for Bradley & Hubbard
This is a very good vintage reproduction of a Tiffany shade....it has the repetative design as well as the the fine webbing of the dragon fly wings...with explosion of color underneath the shade
