    Matchbox Monday Trucks

Here is a collection of Matchbox trucks.

Pepsi trucks - I'm not sure the light blue cabover is correct but it is a Hot Wheels semi. I have seen other Pepsi examples with similar cabs.

Toys R Us - This was a toy store chain which is now out of business, but working on a come back.

Albertsons - Grocery chain that recently merged with Safeway.

Good & Plenty - Licorice candy brand.

McDonald's Big Mac - Seen in my previous post.

Hot Wheels truck - Racing team truck

    PEPSI
The first Pepsi-Cola was created by Caleb D. Bradham (1866–1934), a pharmacist in New Bern, North Carolina. Hoping to duplicate the recent success of Coca-Cola, Bradham named his sweet cola-flavoured carbonated beverage Pepsi-Cola in 1898. The drink proved so popular that in 1902 Bradham incorporated the Pepsi-Cola Company.

    GOOD & PLENTY
Good & Plenty was first produced by the Quaker City Chocolate & Confectionery Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1893 and is believed to be the oldest branded candy in the United States.

    ALBERTSONS
    July 21, 1939
Founder Joe Albertson opens the first Albertsons at 16th and State streets in Boise. For just over 75 cents, customers can purchase three pounds of tomatoes, a pound of coffee and a one-pound roast. An in-store ice cream shop serves double-dipped, handmade ice cream cones dubbed “Big Joe’s” for a nickel.

    TOYS R US
Founded in April 1948, with its headquarters located in Wayne, New Jersey, in the New York metropolitan area. Founded by Charles Lazarus in its modern iteration in June 1957, Toys "R" Us traced its origins to Lazarus's children's furniture store, which he started in 1948.

Dr. Pepper is oldest, then a year later Coke, then 2 years later Pepsi.

Pepsi is my favorite also! I would have shopped at Albertson’s just for that ice cream cone.
Thanks for the history lessons. :-)
