    (930 items)

This stunning & rare piece of art glass was made by John Walsh Walsh. One of my very few international buys recently, but well worth it, as it arrived in less than three weeks from the UK. As soon as I saw it, I knew that it had to be in my collection.
It consists of three crocus flowers set into a rustic, leafy base. The entire item is made from pale yellow opalescent glass which contains uranium & glows brightly under UV light. There are two yellow crocuses, & the central one is pale amethyst.
The centrepiece measures around 22 cm long, 10.5 cm at the widest point of the base, & 10 cm at the tallest point.
It has a prunt underneath which is stamped with Rd. 177733, dating the design to September 2, 1891.

      Many thanks, Jenni!
Yes, I certainly do have quite a lot of glass with a floral theme, so popular in Victorian times. I'll have to do a group photo of all of them someday...including the later Kralik floriforms as well...it's one for the to - do list!

      Much appreciated, Karen!
Yes, it's in amazingly good shape for such a complex, fragile item that's almost 130 years old...thrilled to have it!
