Came across this Jenny Lind Trunk thanks to Maggie, with all of its original leather and thought I should get it so myself and others could enjoy it, also to sort of keep it safe. I spoke to Jim about it and he put it at early 1850's, so Thanks Jim! It is missing the key hole cover plate though. It has both of its original handles which is kind of neat in its own right considering the age. All kinds of visible leather work images. The main one is the eagle with a snake. It needs a few buttons which I shall work on. The interior is cloth and is missing the top tray. It measures in at 26"Long x 17"Deep x 15"Tall. I believe this would have had a leather lock flap judging by the nail with leather remnants below the lock and extra nail holes at the bands area. I put the two small tacks to support the loose span of the front band until the day comes........Hope you find it interesting.
Glad to see it find a good home, I saw this one a little while ago it was just to far away. The shape is awesome.
Really Drill?? Where are you? It was a bit of a drive for me as well, which I wasn't physically up to. However I had sold something to a guy in the area and he was coming to my house to pick his item up, and he picked it up for me and delivered it, which was nice. Other wise I would have had to pass on it myself. I am glad it all worked out. Thanks for the love also!
