This small (4 1/4" tall) vase appears to be made of several layers of metal applied over glass. The metal is peeling off at the bottom and the last photo shows the glass underneath. Part of a label remains on the bottom. I have read that old Mercury Glass items were made like this. Did I find a piece of the past or is this a reproduction?

Pretty vase but I don't think it's mercury glass.

Thank you freiheit. I don't know anything about coated glass products, so this was a guess on my part.
