This Kutani porcelain cat is 5.5" long x 3.5" wide x 2.5" high and has the generic Kutani mark and "Handpainted" on the bottom. This is the generic Kutani sleeping cat, white with a moderate amount of gold decoration and a red collar with bells. Some have the Kutani kiln mark, like this one, and some are just marked "Made in Japan". Many have a paper or cardboard covering the bottom. I am guessing that these sleeping cats are still being made, most probably date to the second half of the 20th century and there are probably thousands floating around made by various Kutani kilns. For some reason people want silly money for these starting somewhere around $50 up to $200 for about the same thing. I am a cat person and wanted one, but I have too much Scot blood to pay the going price for one and finally found a nice one for $8. Cool!
Super sleeping cat, what an adorable face!
Very cat. Slightly smug even!!
@Newfld - Thanks Jenni. I've never seen a non-adorable cat face, real or an image.

Thanks for your comment and loving my little cat. Cats are my favorite animal. I need to re-photograph this one. I washed it and it shines, now. It was a bit grungy, which I did not realize until after washing it.
Thank you vcal and KinkiPlz!
