Hi there
I have recently been given an elderly Aunts clock that I have always admired but know absolutely nothing about it, the signature on the clock face is so faded. I'm not even sure what it is made of wood wise......I have searched online everywhere but can't find anything close except one that was described as a Japanese Temple but it was squared and not domed like mine albeit it had exactly the same carvings on the dome itself....it's about 18" high. If anybody could point me in the right direction, or give any information, it would be much appreciated! It's a beautiful item of which I'm pleased to say I'm now the proud owner of.......even if it's a reproduction.....good news or bad as all news welcome!
Thank you....
Here's one that looks similar to yours. We do have a few clock experts around here so hopefully one of them will chime in no pun intended..

Wow!! Thank you soooooo much dav2no1, I can't believe you found something so similar, I'd say mine is probably 90% exact same and the link you sent me has the Seller as a an Antique Dealer in Birmingham so I will be in contact with them very soon.......once again, thank you so much for the information, it helps and means an awful lot.
Kind Regards
S :)
You're welcome. There was actually a couple similar, but this one was the closest including the works from a quick search.
Yes.....I checked out the name WINTERHALDER & HOFMEIER and I did actually find another similar that sold for £160 (UK).....mine certainly won't be for sale but that was a hell of a drop in the link you sent me!! :(
