This 1880'S Martin Maier Barrel Top Trunk is my newest find from a couple of days back. It measures in at 36" Long x 22" Deep x 30" Tall. This one is an identical match to my last MM in every detail - size - hardware - lock - format. It has been molested though...lol, specifically on the front valance /lock area. Still has all the MM hardware but for the one top center clamp and one wheel as the one corner took a good hit at some point. Surprisingly the main front panel is great, but for the one top edge ... small fold over bite. Some of my photos normally posted were blurred so I didn't use them, I think my lens was a bite fogged. I used the matching trunk for the fourth. The interior is pretty much shot, but I will take a MM in any condition as they don't show up very often in my neck of the woods.
Thanks for the love! drill & fortapache You guys plus many others are always the best!!
Are you looking for a double lock for this trunk? I have one similar to the one on your first trunk. One of the upper pieces is broken. But it can probably be repaired.
I am tearing apart some old trunks I am using for parts. If you are interested, I can send you a photo.
Thanks SamKat for the offer its very much appreciated. However I have an all brass double lock I have had for a while with no real home. The latches are plain but the receiver plate is also all brass so I think it would do nicely on this one. I also have several other double locks in just the steel style similar to the one that would go on here, but again just steel and tin receiver. I do appreciate the offer!! Thanks!
