These two animals are popular political party symbols for upcoming Election Day
Trifari (founded 1918) 1 1-2" goldtone elephant brooch with nugget textured body and one red rhinestone eye, marked crown Trifari ca 1960s;
Capri (1952-1977) 1 1-2" yellow enamel donkey brooch with floral burro sack and one red eye on goldtone, ca 1950s
Very Mardi Gras in theme actually- especially with the donkey, and fitting for this time of year too! Both are very playful, childlike and colourful like little carnival animals, especially the donkey :P
Nice Mexican feel for these cuties !~
Aww, so cute and they a nicer way of showing the two parties :)
Many thanks to everyone for the love

Thank you six-0-one for the always superb compliments, yes he's an adorable Trifari elephant & an oft repeated design (also in silvertone), I always check the CW search box to be sure it was not a previous post & very surprised it hadn't been. Glad you also liked the Capri donkey it's so rare & cute, think the eyelashes give it personality
Absolutely true Lauren, they have a childlike look that is really sweet and I can see this donkey as a pinata! Maybe my love for Mardi Gras-Brazilian Carnaval time is showing here, there is nothing like seeing the creative animal floats on parade, only a few months away. Thank you for your delightful comment on this pair
It's definitely Mexican style Phil esp with tomorrow being the Day of the Dead in Mexico, ole! Thank you for your fabulous comment, I am glad these animals are not somber political types, it is a rather nerve wracking time here with the uncertainty of voting
Thanks Karen for your wonderful praise for my two lil cuties, yes they are too nice for the campaign trail - my husband votes and stays up all nite to see the outcome, I abstain (always, not a political person, plus they put your name on civic duty lists & it is very annoying) and usually turn in early with a Vera dvd, something about watching her driving along the coastal plains of Northumberland is very relaxing :)
