Here is a 3"H x 4"W resin figure of an owl sitting on a pumpkin telling jokes to a mouse, titled What A Hoot from Fitz and Floyd's Charming Tails division ca 2000. With a 3 1-2"H amber mist glass owl with its glowing rhinestone eyes overlooking the fun, from Westmoreland Glass, 1970s, orig label
A very Happy Halloween to all!!
A very rare encounter indeed! It’s nice to see that the owl and mouse are setting aside their predator-prey relationship and having a good time :) Love the amber mist owl with the rhinestone eyes! Happy Halloween to an awesome CW poster!!
Very cool!- I adore the lovely amber orange colour of the glass owl- that's great! You seem to have such a huge collection of glass owls. :)
The little mouse looks to be captivated by all the owl has to say, I wonder is there a student/ teacher relationship going on here? Maybe the mouse is going on half term break? Or maybe he's given the owl the book on loan?!
Forgot to wish you a Happy Halloween too Jenni! And to everyone else on CW!!!
I love the eyeglass owl commercials so I just love this one, its a story in itself !~
Halloween thanks to all for the love

Hoot thank you for your fantastic comment & you are so right, in the wild these two species would be predator & prey, isn't it nice when artists can lighten up on reality - perhaps the joking innuendo means that the joke is on us lol! I'm glad you liked the little vignette & rhinestone eyed glass owl, I always try to feature a glass animal in any of my combo posts and this spooky-eyed amber owl seemed to be compatible here. I am bowing bashfully to you for the lovely compliment about my collection you're too kind, it is always a pleasure to find that others enjoy my pieces as much as I enjoy collecting them - and pls have a great Halloween today!
Thanks Lauren for your super and imaginative comment, you always have the greatest ideation and can bring my animals to life, that's a talent and I love it!! They really do look like teacher (owl) and student (mouse), esp the flapping owl wings remind me of a cape, and he is teaching a comedy course lol, very creative. You are right, I DO have many owls in both glass & jewelry, of course I love them & all birds, it seems owls were a popular subject by vintage companies so don't worry there are lots more to come :) Enjoy Halloween today, have alot of fun OK
Phil you have reminded me of those great eyeglass owl TV commercials, there were a couple co's called Wise I seem to remember, then the potato chip co of the same name used to use an owl face in their logo - owls seem to be known as a wise bird, they do seem all seeing & all knowing to me :) Thank you my friend for your great comment and I hope your Halloween is a happy one
C'mon, that mouse is way too big for any owl to eat!
More cuties, I love these whimsies Jenni.
Lol Karen it's totally true, that humongous mouse could never be snatched by that small owl - but you know, it's fun to think of their wild counterparts. Here's an interesting true story for you, I used to have a big tube bird feeder on my patio that attracted a wide variety of birds esp cute chubby sparrows. Well a hawk showed up on the fence near the feeder, & knowing sparrows are their #1 prey, I went up to the hawk with a colorful beach towel, flapping it so he would go away. He didn't right away & gave me a deadly stare (could have attacked me, I know), then finally took off. Predatory birds like owls & eagles are very pretty, but when you think about the poor small animals they feed on, you realize that nature is cruel, but its survival of the fittest (AND biggest!) Thanks for enjoying my Halloween vignette, hope yours was happy & always grateful for your fabulous words my friend
That’s a great story about the hawk, I see them flying around here but they never get close.
We have quite a few hunting birds around, currawongs, magpies, butcher birds, kookaburras, and they seem pretty vicious with their prey. Nature I guess.
We have a local powerful owl and I have seen a dead possum left from it. They are a big bird, take small dogs if they could. I love hearing it hoot at night.
Thank you Cokeman for the love, it's very nice of you and glad you liked my little Halloween display
Such a cute figurine!
Thanks MrsT for the great compliment and the love, so glad you enjoyed my Fitz & Floyd Halloween figurine, I think the jack o'lantern does make the animals look cute!
