BARBED WIRE COMPONENT FENCE SALESMAN SAMPLE

US Patent Number 619,684, dated February 14, 1899 was issued to Edwin C. Merton and William L. Godfrey, of Post Mills, Vermont. The photo 4 carrying case only mentions Godfrey which makes me wonder if Godfrey bought the patent rights from Emerton. This salesman sample ended up in Pennsylvania. If it could only talk I'm sure it would have a story to tell. It appears to be well travelled. The dimensions are 13" high x 31" long x 4" deep. The metal pipe and fittings are a full size example of an alternate fence post. Photo number 3 is a synopsis of the patent specification.
