A lovely matched pair with vaseline at the bottom graduating to cranberry at the top ruffles. There is a hint of opalescence. These jam dishes are free standing because they sit on 7 petal feet, even though they have a vaseline pinch work band around the body circumference. Perhaps I was premature saying that they were 'matched'. The slightly larger bowl has 8 feet and is heavier than the other. You couldn't get any more Victorian with these two beauties. I think I prefer these dishes to the ones in a metal holder because there is nothing that can obscure the colour and shape of the glass. Certainly brightens the Victorian breakfast table. Height 8 cms and 14.5 cms across the top ruffles. Manufactured last 15 years of 19th century in Stourbridge by one of the bigger firms.
