This 1 1-2" goldtone brooch features two sailors steering a ship's wheel, with patriotic red, white & blue enamel, 1960s signed Lisner (1904-1985).
Best Veterans Day wishes to all past & present service personnel and your families, I salute you & this too for my late US Navy radioman father

Very touching with your father being referenced in this post- the brooch is really sweet and unusual too.
You rarely see people depicted in brooches and if they do have a maritime theme it's usually anchors but these two sailors seem to be wrestling very hard against that ship's helm- it makes me think they're battling through some VERY turbulent waters hopeful of seeing approaching port lights :)

Thanks Lauren for your sweet words, I always do think about my dad on this and other patriotic holidays, he wanted to make a career of the service but his father wanted them to work together, then he met my mother etc., but always had fond memories of being in the Navy. Glad you liked my pair of sailors & your story is very plausible that they are wrestling against stormy seas! I think their hats & outfits are really cute, the colors held up well over the years. Ship's Ahoy!!
