Ironstone Royal Crownford Staffordshire England

Not sure what this was used for, it appears to be a sugar shaker or some sort of shaker, however it has the word EGGS written across the front of it and even though it’s made in England it appears to have an American sort of look to it...what with the eagle and stars.
