Joseph Rodgers' Lock-back Knife 1900 - 10

A very good folding lock-back knife from well known Sheffield, England cutlers, Joseph Rodgers & Sons. The rigged scales are deer antler. When opened to full extension, the steel button on the top automatically locks the single spear point blade into position while pressing it will release the catch and it will be able to be closed - simple but effective. The famous Rodgers' trade mark is found on one side of the blade where it pivots, while the firm's address is on the other side. They are both stamped into the blade. There is a nail pull towards the blade's middle. Five steel pins hold the scales together to the liners which are steel and the grooved bolsters appear to be steel as well. Made in the first 10 years of the 20th century. Length closed is 11.5 cms [4.75 inches] and opened 20.5 cms [a little over 8 inches]. This style of knife was made in a smaller and a larger size. For its age the knife is in very good condition.
