this OWL is made of jade and garnets, topped with a pearl & jade. the back is marked "SWOBODA IN". According to the research I did on this item, it is called "Graduate Owl". This artist is new to me and therefore I am including some history below, from Kaleidoscope effect.
Swoboda vintage jewellry (thanks to the website "https://nasvete.com")
Edward Swoboda (1917–2013) created his company in 1956 in Los Angeles and called it by his name. He sold his jewelry at Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods of London, Neiman Marcus, and featured in showrooms in Los Angeles, New York, and Dallas.
In his collections Swoboda used freshwater pearls, gold leaf, a variety of semi-precious stones and unique design. This has always distinguished decorations by Swoboda, despite the fact that jewelry was not marked on the metal stigma until 1966.
Adorable Swoboda owl, a beautiful Swoboda piece Lori! I love this designer & have some of his figurals, such creative use of gemstones in costume jewelry. Great history & wonderful find
Thanks for the lore and lesson and lovely owl image. Just enchanting, and then some. I keep managing to RESIST getting pulled into owl jewelry, but... you aren't helping! :)
Thank you all for the loves;

Glad he/she didn't fall from the tree.
And I don't think this owl has seen NY Rockefeller Center lately. ha
