I actually bought a big plastic bagful of assorted flatware (mostly junk) years ago, because I spotted the loose 8pcs of these in it and thought they were interesting/fun. Still do in fact, such I was all the more delighted recently to come across a **2nd** set just like them, in their original box even?!! <woohoo!!> Perfect for the 'appetizers' table, back when folks in general enjoyed/could actually host things like cocktail or dinner parties?!! ;-) A cursory bit of Google suggests they are vintage 50's-60's or so, and were available in a wide variety of handle styles/colors, also with several different label styles on the box they came in.
They are small hors d'oeuvere/party tray forks, made of stainless steel with plastic handles, each about 3-1/2" long, marked "STAINLESS JAPAN on their backs. The box label further states "AN EXCLUSIVE KNOBLER IMPORT", and there is a tiny label (not shown) on the bottom of the box reading "MADE IN JAPAN".
Now I've got *twice* as many to put into that box, before it gets lost in a drawer somewhere... <lolol>
great find - thought maybe fondue forks - but then they aren't quite long enough. Super neat to find the box!
