The pin was sold to me as as early 20th century faceted citrine banded agate and sterling silver. This is a new field for me so if anyone can give me any ideas on what I should and shouldn't be doing i would be grateful. So far apart from the first two kilt pins were not silver the rest have been. I have also realised that the older the item the dearer it is although with some knowledge and luck there are bargains out there.
Many thanks Ms.Ms.CrystalShip, elanski and Jenni for the loves. Neil
Thanks kyratango for the love.
Hey you didn't tell me you already had this many kilt pins!!!? :) :)
It's only what I have purchased over the last 3 weeks. But what fun, and loads more to come if I dont run out of dosh. I must start looking into the clan history and more. Neil
I really love your collection. I can't read the marks but from other details it looks like all your dirk/dagger pins are antique due to the tubehinge and c-clasp and the pattern in the silver on the front. Those are my favourites!
This is definitely my favourite. It looks and feels like a true kilt pin. If I am to buy anymore of these pins it will be similar to this one and although I picked this one up for £19,99 they are normally around the £70-£120 mark. Can I take this opportunity to thank fortapache, Elisabeth and RichmondLori for their loves and comment. Neil
