Collectabl…
(310 items)
Originally all three were gilded but only one remains with its gilt. Bought all three together so say from a jewellers old new stock.
Nice clear hallmarks, all three were made by Frank Narborough assayed in Birmingham in 1950. Not sure if these pins/clips are to do with kilts but certainly a Celtic design.
Appreciate the loves thank you elanski and Jenni.
The clips look more like a tie clip than a kilt pin.
Maybe if you wear ties 3" wide.
Well, the only items I found with that type clip and triangular emblem was tie clips and oddly clips that go on the socks they wear. It appeared the socks are folded over at the top about 3 or 4 inches and a fancy clip put on the fold on the outside of the leg right below the knee. The image on google showed a pretty clear image of the socks clip which I had never happened to see before. I will have to pay attention when the Renaissance Festivals start again after this dam pandemic.
Brilliant info. I think a sock clip sounds right well it's more unusual than a tie clip or even a kilt pin. Thanks for giving me something to go on.
I found a possible answer. Maybe it was a clip to keep the kilt flashes secure ??
Thank you fhrjr2, fortapache, Ms.CrystalShip and kwqd for the loves.
A belated thank you Watchsearcher, sorry I missed this one. Neil
