Photograph of Seattle Seahawk
Approximately 11" x 8 3/4" in frame.
Well...kinda. This is a Seahawk and it was photographed in Seattle. That is the Puget Sound in the background. This appears to be a very young bird.
This Photograph was taken and given to my father by his friend. I wish I knew what his name was. Supposedly he won some awards for this picture and was famous for taking pictures of these birds.
What is a Seahawk?
The osprey or more specifically the western osprey (Pandion haliaetus) — also called sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk — is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range.
Diurnal means -during the day -vs- nocturnal -at night
What a beautiful bird photo, can see why it won so many awards - thanks for sharing with us, I love birds
Thanks for the comments and thanks for looking...
