1961 U.S. Dept. Of Commerce Metric System Poster
45" x 29"
U.S. Department Of Commerce - National bureau of standards - The metric system of measurement.
So I was looking in the basement closet for a box, so I could ship one of my guns back to the factory for work. I saw a couple poster sleeves, so I grabbed them because I have a couple posters that needed storage. After I grabbed them, I realised they had stuff in them.
There was this poster and a AARL world map. Not sure where dad got this, but he did teach vocational electronics at a local community college for while in the early 1970s.
THE METRIC SYSTEM
Metric system, international decimal system of weights and measures, based on the metre for length and the kilogram for mass, that was adopted in France in 1795 and is now used officially in almost all countries.
The United States is now the only industrialized country in the world that does not use the metric system as its predominant system of measurement. Most Americans think that our involvement with metric measurement is relatively new.
By 1961, every kid over 12 knew the metric system !
