Yesterday's op shop find, this Czech glass vase is just like one I owned years ago & sold, except that it has its brass flower frog intact. Always nice to get a replacement item in better condition than the original!
The vase is made from two layers of cased glass, clear over spatter in orange, red, & yellow. It measures around 13 cm tall, 6.5 cm across the top rim, 11 cm across the widest point, & 6.5 cm across the base, which has no markings (typical of most Tango era glass found in Australia) but plenty of age - related shelf wear.
Both vase & brass frog were rather dirty, but after a good clean I think this classic piece of Art Deco glass has scrubbed up quite nicely.
Czech origin, 1920s - 1930s.
Yes I agree that it is always nice to see an upgrade to a past piece. And satisfying to have clean-up efforts shine! Very nice. -- the colors are fitting for showing off a Thanksgiving bouquet ????
Many thanks, Lori!
