Here are a colorful pair of glass dachshund dog "friends"
Murano Glass Italy with label, red, orange & uranium yellow (see UV photo) glass dog with slightly concave body & clownish red nose, 4 1-4"H x 4 1-4"W
Multi Glass Japan blue, yellow, brown & green glass dog with upturned nose and tail, 3 1-2"H x 4 1-2"W
Both dogs are ca 1980s, the Murano was purchased from England, the Multi Glass given to me by a dear friend & fellow glass collector out of her kind generosity to add to my animal collection
Very sweet little dogs! Their light colour tint reminds me of those balloon animals a children's entertainer might make, especially the pink one with the rather bulbous nose!
These are wonderful Jenni!! Dachshunds are my favorite breed. We've had several Dachshunds and currently have a little girl chocolate/tan longhair Dachshund. She just turned 4 years old last week.
Well made and a sense of reality with the 2 dogs shown !~
well that was kind of your friend ... must be case your always nice .... cool dogs ..I like mine with mustard
...smiling ..later
Both are so cartoony and doggy!
The Murano is extra cute with that bobble nose. I know a bit about the other dawg, he's pretty cute.
A perfect pair Jenni.
These are so adorable, love the color variation!
Special thanks to Karen-racer4four for her wonderful gift of this Multi Glass dachshund, I am humbly grateful both for the beautiful glass animals you have given me for my little 'zoo' and for our friendship
- love Jenni

Very apt comparison Lauren, these glass pups really do resemble balloon animals, your splendid eye has caught it again! Thank you so much for your wonderful praise and always spot on insight
Scott it's so great that you have been a dachshund owner for some time, they are totally adorable & affectionate dogs with a sweet nature. I'm glad I could showcase a couple in glass, thank you for your super comment
Thanks Phil for your fab comment, I think it is amazing that glassmakers can make you see a real animal, then give it fantasy aspects with the colors & such. I'm very lucky to have this pair
Thank you Alfred for your very kind comment, yes my friend Karen (she is racer4four here on CW) is a lovely generous person, and lol these are often called wiener or frankfurter dogs with their long bodies! I love the way artists take license and make them even longer than in reality :)
Karen my friend, the Murano may be cute and yes the nose makes it rather comical, but your color-rich Multi Glass dog is the most beautiful & realistic. It is so well formed and even heavy in weight, what a spectacular example of Japanese glass, thank you for the introduction and for the other gorgeous glass animals you've given me they are beyond amazing
Thanks MrsT for your very sweet praise, these pups do make a compatible pair with their different coloring. Always a nice word for me I'm very grateful to you :)
Thanks guys for the love it's always very much appreciated

Thanks apostata for your very nice compliment & good mood - I know this Murano dog is not made by one of the masters, but he is rather original & cute :)
