Have wanted an example of this type of glass for a while...but it doesn't turn up in Australia that often.
Luckily, I was able to pick up this one at a shop which is having a closing down sale, for half price.
Looks like it is made from two layers of cased glass, clear over opaline white. The outer layer is highly iridescent, & this is further highlighted by the quilted pattern & melon ribbing. The vase measures 7.5 cm tall, 10.3 cm across the flared out, cut top rim, & 6 cm across the base.

That’s a very pretty example! The quilting and shape work very well together. I am glad you were able to find this one!

Sigh. Just as well your glass is not edible because we would all have cavities.

Thanks so much, Michelle! Yes, I do think it's a particularly nice example of this decor. Funnily enough, the shop I got it from had two vases in this decor, but this one had the better shape & size (small glass is always a winner in my opinion when one's collection is so terribly large). They were stacked one inside the other, hidden away at the bottom of a cluttered cabinet. The bigger one was a rose bowl type that was missing it's brass flower frog...& this little darling was underneath it!

      LOL Karen...Kralik Krackle, anyone? :-)
Or an Iridiscent Brittle...or a Vitreous Crumble...oh dear, you've got me started & now I'll spend hours thinking up daft names for glass sweets...

The Regional Museum in Teplice has 2 examples of this decor with a paper sticker with the inscription Steinwald. The credibility of this designation has been confirmed by several Czech experts in bohemian glass. I believe that it is a product of the Ernst Steinwald & Co. glassworks.
