U.S. Flag Flown Over The Capital by Ted Stevens
Circa: 2001
This is a huge flag and I cannot display it at this time.
Here's a United States flag that was flown over the United States Capital at the request of Ted Stevens. It was flown for Ben Johnson.
Not sure exactly who Ben Johnson was? Could be anybody, although there was a documentary tv show done that year about the Olympic sprinter who was banned from athletics after winning the gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
The important name is Ted Stevens:
Former Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, died in a single-engine plane crash in southwest Alaska that killed four other people, including one of his former congressional aides, officials said. A former NASA chief was among the four survivors.
Theodore Fulton Stevens Sr. was an American politician who served as a United States Senator from Alaska from 1968 to 2009. He was the longest-serving Republican U.S. Senator in history at the time he left office; his record was surpassed in January 2017 by Orrin Hatch from Utah.
UNITED STATES CAPITAL FLAGS
Unfortunately Capitol flags have now become a lucrative business. The last estimates.. the figure was just over 121,400, or an average of 330 for every day of the year.
Wow.. nice story to go with the post. thanks
Thanks for your comments and thanks for looking. I love the stories that go with objects.
