      Can't ever argue with a cool key (or lock) even if maybe not terribly rare. [I have *boxfuls* of my own! <lol>]

      If you have a local locksmith (not just a home improvement store with a key machine) they'd probably be able to give you a slightly better idea (?) of its age/function, via the key blank number stamped into it under the YALE name.

      The intriguing stamping on its backside, OTOH, I don't have a clue about...dav2no1 might be on the right track there...??
