WWI Trench Art Owned by Dr. Goodsell - PART 2
In this post we will look at the larger of the 3 artillery shells. This is also a 75mm French artillery shell. This one is dated 1918 on the bottom in the date code.
This shell has the same leaf motif but it also has a bunch of grapes as well. The top is a closed oval shape with stylized crimps around it. The background work is a little different from the other shells. It has a wonderful cross pattern.

Nice. I have several surplus rifles with trench art but need really considered collecting based on that.
These are works of. I think most of my rifles are more doodling, but I haven't looked at most of them in years.
I can't imagine how long this would have took...lots of details..
